Analog & Digital IC Development Tools

Analog and Digital IC Development Tools are technology tools which enable the development, implementation and fabrication of integrated circuits (ICs) that use analog and/or digital circuits. These ICs have the ability to process and transmit analog or digital information signals, which makes them completely different to their earlier versions such as thick and thin film components. In order to create and produce integrated circuits such as Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), there must be an Analog and Digital IC Development Tool that has features such as top-down design, powerful graphical simulation capabilities, logical-level modeling, and an extensive library of components. The tool also should be able to handle the physical layout, verification, layouts of through-hole and surface mount components, design rule checking, and the fabrication of the IC. Analog and Digital IC Development Tools range from the simplest logic element to the complete system for designing very complex ASICs. Popular tools include Synthesis tools, Logic Synthesis, Design Verification and Layout Design Tools, Verilog-A Design tools, and a range of other specialized tools. These tools are constantly being improved as technology advances and enables faster and more complex design and production of units for all electronics systems. Given the fast-paced development in the field, manufacturers have to ensure that their development tools remain up-to-date and are able to handle the constant changes in technology.
