Active Filter Development Tools

Active filter development tools are computer programs used to design active filters, which are electronic circuits consisting of active components (amplifiers, transistors, and integrated circuits) that are used to shape, modify, and enhance a signal. These tools allow the user to select the desired filter parameters (filter type, response type, corner frequency, etc.), and compute the values of the components required for the filter’s design. Most active filter development tools can synthesize various active filter types, including low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-stop filters. They also provide advanced capabilities, such as the ability to analyze the effect of component tolerances on the filter’s performance, and the ability to generate an SPICE netlist for the filter’s simulation.
