3D Printings & Accessories

3D printing is the process of creating a three-dimensional object from a digital design. It works by successive layers of material being laid down in succession until the desired shape is created. The process requires the use of a 3D printer and a variety of accessories, including filament, frame, motors, extruder, and material. 3D printing accessories include filament and frame, which are responsible for the construction of the object. Filament is typically a type of plastic or metal wire that is melted and extruded through a nozzle. This liquid is then applied in layers, which are controlled and collected through the use of software and other electronic components to create three-dimensional objects. Frame is a metal or plastic framework that helps to house, align and contain the heated parts of the 3D printer, such as the extruder and motors. Other accessories that may be used to enhance the 3D printing process include a printing plate that helps to keep the design from shifting during printing, various print-bed covers and supports, specialty wires for complex prints, heat-beds for even temperature control, and a filament-change station that allows for changing the type of filament being used. All of these components work together to help ensure that 3D printing is successful and of the highest quality.
