Board Mount Motion & Position Sensors

Board mount motion and position sensors are devices that are used to measure and monitor relative motion of two objects. The most common use of such sensors is in industries where precise measurements of distances, speeds and angles over time are required. These sensors are used in automotive, aerospace, machine building, medical devices, test and measurement equipment and many other applications. Board mount motion and position sensors can be used in measuring the speed and acceleration of objects. They can be used to measure the distance between two points, the location of an object or the orientation of an object. Board mount sensors can also be used to detect the position of movable objects in a range of environmental conditions. They can be used to measure liquid level, to determine pressure and temperature, or to identify motion of two distinct points. In some applications, these sensors can also be used to sense the acceleration of objects. Board mount motion and position sensors are often a type of contactless device, such as those based on capacitive sensing, inductive sensing, infrared sensing, strain gauge sensing, or magnetoresistive sensing. These sensor types can be used to measure a range of conditions such as edge detection, position, movement, acceleration and temperature.
