FPGA - Field Programmable Gate Array

A Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is an integrated circuit (IC) used for digital circuit design and consists of an interconnecting array of programmable logic blocks surrounding a reconfigurable network of configurable logic blocks. The logic blocks and interconnections are reconfigurable, meaning that the FPGA can be programmed to implement a wide variety of digital designs. This allows for shorter product development cycles, increased system performance and energy efficiency, as well as cost savings. In addition, FPGAs offer a high degree of flexibility, allowing for the reprogramming and optimization of the FPGA circuits to suit the changing needs and requirements of their applications.
