AC/DC Converters

AC/DC converters are electrical devices that convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). They are also known as AC-to-DC power supplies, rectifiers, or inverters. The AC voltage is first converted to DC by means of rectification, a process that converts the AC waveform to a pulsed DC waveform. The incoming AC waveform is filtered to reduce the harmonic content and to form the desired DC level. The voltage regulator then converts the filtered pulsed DC to a specific stable DC voltage.
