Clock & Timer ICs

A clock and timer integrated circuit (IC) is a piece of circuitry that is used to measure the length of time an event or process takes to occur. This type of IC includes a built-in clock that can be set to measure the time interval, allowing it to time processes ranging from milliseconds to days. Clock and timer ICs are used in a number of applications, such as providing accurate timing to cellular networks, measuring proper exposure times in digital photography, tracking the duration of audio or video recordings, or keeping track of data transfer speeds.
