A real-time clock (RTC) is a type of digital clock that is typically used to track time even when the power is turned off. An RTC maintains its data by being powered by a small battery or capacitor and runs on an integrated circuit. It is used to keep track of current time and date. The RTC is typically found in computers, digital clocks and other devices that require accurate timekeeping. A real-time clock typically keeps track of the day, month, year, hour, minute, and second. It is often used to trigger events at certain times and dates, or to accurately time-stamp data.
