Clock Buffer

A clock buffer is an electronic buffer device that is used to distribute a clock signal to multiple digital circuits. It takes a single non-synchronized clock source and outputs many synchronized clock signals. The clock buffer typically has active circuitry that allows each output to be delayed, re-timed or even inverted in order to provide timing synchronization between multiple systems. Clock buffers are used in many electronic systems where precise timing is essential for correct operation. The buffers can be used to ensure that all systems are working on the correct clock signal, even when different clock frequencies are used.
