UPS - Uninterruptible Power Supplies

UPS stands for uninterruptible power supply. It is a device that provides backup power to a computer, server, or other electronic device should its main power source fail. A UPS generally has an electric battery to provide emergency power should the normal power source fail. The battery powers the system for an extended period of time until the main power source is restored. UPS systems are designed to minimize data loss and minimize the risk of hardware damage due to power outages or spikes.
