About DC/DC Converters

DC/DC Converters

DC/DC converters are electronic components that convert a direct current (DC) voltage from one value to another. They can either increase (step up) or decrease (step down) a given DC voltage. They are useful for supplying different voltage levels to the many different loads in an electronic system. The DC/DC converters transfer power from one DC source to another, typically a higher voltage to a lower voltage. Generally, they are much more efficient than linear regulators. DC/DC converters are used in many applications, such as automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, medical, and telecom.
