Passive Components

Passive components are electronic components that do not require energy to store or function, but instead rely on other components in an electrical circuit to provide energy. Common examples of passive components include resistors, capacitors, inductors, and transformers. These components allow the flow of electrical current to be controlled and are essential to circuit design. In addition to controlling the flow of current, some passive components also perform the additional functions of noise reduction and signal conditioning.
