Infrared Data Communications

Infrared Data Communications (IRD) is a means of exchanging information using invisible infrared light that is transmitted from one IR device to another. This method of communication is generally slower than other methods, like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or NFC, but it offers some advantages. For example, the data is transmitted directly between the two devices, meaning it does not require an internet connection, allowing for secure data transfer. Additionally, IRDs can also be used to transmit data from an infrared remote control, like those found on a TV or DVD player, to a component for controlling programs or playing video games.
