OLED stands for organic light-emitting diode, OLED is a type of LCD (liquid crystal display) panel used in displays of smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other mobile devices. It uses organic compounds to emit light when electricity is applied to it, and offers superior image quality compared with LCDs.
OLED displays offer several advantages over their LCD counterparts including higher contrast, wider viewing angles, faster response times and lower power consumption. They are typically thinner, lighter, and more flexible than LCDs and can be made with transparent plastic materials.
OLED displays are also used with accessories such as touchscreens, backlighting controllers, and other components to make them work in various mobile devices.
