Electrical Enclosures

An electrical enclosure is a housing for wiring, switches, circuit breakers, and other electrical components. These enclosures are designed to protect personnel from electrical shocks from these components and to protect the components from environmental hazards, such as dust and moisture. Electrical enclosures can be made out of metal, plastic, or fiberglass and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The shape and size of the enclosure will be determined by what components and wiring will go inside. The size of the enclosure may vary depending on the number of components and their sizes. The enclosure will have appropriate openings or knockouts for the wiring and components to go into and will have the appropriate approvals and ratings for the job.
