WiFi Modules - 802.11

Wi-Fi modules are components based on the 802.11 standards that allow devices to communicate over a wireless network. These modules are available in various flavours, each optimized for different solutions. Wi-Fi modules may be embedded into existing devices, such as laptops, mobile phones, and embedded devices to provide connectivity. They can also be connected externally, as ‘access points’, which allow multiple devices to connect to a wireless network. Wi-Fi modules commonly use one of the 802.11 standards, such as 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 800.11n and 802.11ac, depending on the type, speed and range required. They are an important component of any wireless network, as they provide the core technology that enables all the other devices to connect, send/receive data and interact.
