Media Converters

Media Converters are specialized stand-alone devices used to connect two dissimilar media types such as Twisted Pair to Fiber Optic cables. They allow users to extend their network beyond the segment length limitations of a particular media type, for example connecting a fiber optic segment to a copper segment, or connecting two fiber segments over a long distance. They can also be used to convert data from one protocol to another, allowing users to transition from legacy networks to modern, fully compliant networks. Media Converters come in a variety of formats including stand alone boxes, Ethernet-to-fiber modules, and mini converters.
