Development Boards & Kits - ARM

Development boards and kits with ARM processing are designed to enable the rapid development of embedded systems with advanced architectures and features. ARM processors, designed by ARM Holdings plc, are used in many products within the embedded field, including cell phones and tablets. Development boards, as a part of the ARM Developer Community, are platforms to allow engineers to develop and test applications written for ARM cores. The boards typically contain either an ARM7, Cortex-A8 or Cortex-M3 processor. The ARM7 or Cortex-A8 are generally used in high performance applications while the Cortex-M3 is used in low power applications. The development boards come with a variety of features, such as USB ports, audio support, RAM and ROM memory, and on-board debugging support. Kits include printed circuit boards, peripheral modules, and expansion boards which simplify the development of ARM-based products. Experimenter kits are also available for hobbyists to use.
