Motors are mechanical devices that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy and are used to power machinery and equipment. A drive is an electronic device that increases or decreases the amount of energy produced by a motor. The drive is able to control the speed, direction and torque of the motor by using a variety of control systems. This enables motors to be used in virtually any application where power is required.
