IC & Component Sockets

Integrated circuit (IC) and component sockets are devices that are used to connect components and integrated circuits to a PCB. They allow components to be replaced or swapped easily, enabling the device to be used in a variety of different applications. They are typically classified by their number of pins and include multiple types such as LCC, PLCC, PGA and DIP IC sockets. These IC sockets protect components and integrated circuits from being damaged due to mishandling, reduce the need for soldering, and provide improved accuracy and electrical connections between components. Some sockets are also designed to improve mobility by helping to secure the component and eliminating the need for additional hardware or soldering.
