Fuses

A fuse is an electrical safety device designed to protect electrical circuits and equipment from overload and short circuits. Fuses are composed of a wire or strip of metal that melts when too much current passes through it, thus breaking the circuit and preventing the flow of electricity. Common types of fuses include fast-blow, slow-blow, single-element, and current-limiting. Fuses are used in a variety of applications, from home outlets to automobile and boat wiring systems.
