Circuit Breakers & Accessories

Circuit breakers are devices designed to protect electrical systems from excessive current, which can cause overheating and dangerous electrical fires. They are often used in home and commercial settings to protect electrical wiring from overloads and short circuits. Circuit breakers can be manual or automatic; manual breakers require the user to reset them manually, while automatic breakers rely on a device such as a thermal overload switch to sense when the circuit exceeds its current rating. Accessories are devices connected to a circuit breaker or directly to an electrical system to add safety, convenience and flexibility to the circuit. Accessories can include alarm systems to alert building occupants in the event of a fire or other emergency, surge protection devices to protect against power surges, and specialized circuit breaker trip points to adjust the level of current allowed on the circuit.
